SoleSchiff
Story

How SoleSchiff scaled from selling personal pairs to operating like a business.

What began as personal interest quickly became an opportunity.

I started by selling my own pairs on GOAT, Grailed, and eBay. After consistently turning profits, I expanded into my local network and began actively sourcing both new and used sneakers. Demand grew through word of mouth, and what started as a hobby began operating like a business.

Start

As volume increased, structure was necessary.

I transitioned to an Instagram-driven sales model, posting weekly inventory drops every Friday and fulfilling orders over the weekend. Early on, the strategy was simple: prioritize margin. With limited bandwidth, every pair needed to justify the time investment, so sourcing focused on high-profit opportunities.

System

Scale forced a decision: operate casually or build something real.

SoleSchiff was established as an LLC as transaction volume accelerated. After building a presence at sneaker events and gaining a steady stream of inbound sellers, the model shifted toward repeatable volume. Moving more inventory but accepting smaller margins.

Growth

Peak meant consistency, not one-off wins.

Instead of chasing only large flips, the focus became a steady flow of pairs: tighter turnaround, higher velocity, and systems that made it predictable.

Peak

When the market cooled, the model had to change.

After 2023, the resale market normalized. Reselling had become oversaturated with an increase in releases from top brands and a wave of new resellers. The market dried and I pursued new means of entrepreneurship. I learned about myself, how much I enjoy selling a product and being a business owner. How to manage relationships in the business world both client facing and with other business owners. Lastly, the importance of consistency and discipline for achieving your goals.
